Once-in-a-lifetime: 2 cruise auditions at VDF 2022! 

Victorian Dance Festival (VDF) is coming back this April 23-24, at the Melbourne Showgrounds! The long-awaited festival will not only include two packed days of workshops, the 2022 Vitality Dance Teacher Day, an opportunity to perform in the live IGNITE show, and an awesome Dance Market and Expo, but VDF will also hold two – yes, two! – cruise auditions. 

The two cruises – Royal Caribbean and Creative Studios by Norwegian Cruise Line – are coming to VDF 2022, holding masterclasses and speaking on a guest panel on Saturday, April 23. These events are only available to VDF ticketholders. This has never been offered before in Australia, so make sure you get your tickets to VDF now to participate in these exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities! Each cruise will also hold a dancer audition, open to the public.

On Saturday, April 23, Royal Caribbean will run a Cruise Repertoire masterclass and Q&A where participants can get a feel for Royal Caribbean’s productions and style, see what it’s like to be a professional dancer at sea, and ask any questions before the audition. It also gives dancers a chance to get in front of the casting agents and make an impression before the audition. The masterclass is part of the VDF Weekend lineup and only available to VDF ticketholders.

On Sunday, April 24, Royal Caribbean will hold an open dancer audition for dancers ages 18 and over. Two audition sessions will be held – from 9-10:30am or 10:30am-12pm. Check-in is from 8:30am or 10am. Auditions will be held in the Exhibition Pavilion at Melbourne Showgrounds. Register here to secure your spot!

Creative Studios by Norwegian Cruise Line deliver A-list productions directed and choreographed by renowned professionals like Warren Carlyle, Patti Wilcox, Tiger Martina, Chase Benz and Mark Kanemura. On Saturday, April 23, Creative Studios will run a Cruise Repertoire masterclass and Q&A so dancers can get a taste of what it’s like working as a professional dancer at sea. This is only available to VDF ticketholders. 

At 3pm on Saturday, April 23, Creative Studios will hold an open dancer audition for dancers 18 and over. The auditions will be open to the public, and you do not need a VDF ticket to audition. You can register here to secure an audition spot!
