Mitchell is a recent graduate of the prestigious Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. Vaganova's alumnus includes George Balanchine, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Rudolf Nureyev, and Anna Pavlova.
Mitchell studied primarily at NYC's exclusive Ellison Ballet Professional Training Program where he was under the direction of his teacher and mentor, Edward Ellison. Previously he studied closely under the ballet legend Gelsey Kirkland, where he frequently worked one on one as a student with Ms. Kirkland on the classical repertoire at the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet Academy
